About Madeline
I’m a Catholic speaker and spiritual director, a wife to a soldier, mom of two, and a convert whose faith came alive in a military chapel nearly a decade ago. That unexpected encounter with Christ—through friendship, formation, and the sacraments—set me on a path I never could have planned: a path of walking with others as they discover the same.

My background is in Catholic theology and spiritual direction, and I’ve devoted the past several years forming missionary disciples in service to the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA. I have helped both parish and military chapel communities grow into places of deeper prayer, stronger relationships, and mission-driven faith. I love helping people find their place in the Body of Christ—not just through head knowledge, but through personal encounter and lived belonging.

I hold a Master of Arts in Applied Catholic Theology from the University of Mary, where I focused my graduate work on Theology of the Body and evangelization among U.S. military Catholics. I also trained as a spiritual director through Divine Mercy University, where I was formed in a model of accompaniment that integrates the riches of the Catholic spiritual tradition with a deep awareness of the human heart.

I work with both men and women—military and civilian—who are seeking clarity in prayer, discernment in seasons of change, or simply a place to speak freely about what God is doing (or not doing) in their lives. My approach to spiritual direction is rooted in the belief that God is already at work in each person’s story. I’m just there to help them notice.

When I speak or lead retreats, I draw from my own life in motion: frequent moves, seasons of spiritual desolation and consolation, unexpected doors that opened, and a growing conviction that our lives are meant to be lived as gift. My favorite topics include:

-
The Eucharist as encounter
-
Hope in the darkness
-
Marian spirituality and spiritual motherhood
-
Friendship and discipleship
-
Theology of the Body

I’ve been blessed to minister in both parish and military communities, and I’ve seen firsthand how the Holy Spirit meets people in the mess and movement of life. You don’t have to be in a perfectly peaceful season to grow. You just have to be willing.

If you're looking for a spiritual director, a speaker, or simply someone who understands how disorienting (and holy) this life can be—I’d be honored to meet you.
“Behold, I am doing something new. Now it springs forth—do you not perceive it?”
- Isaiah 43:19
Spiritual Direction
“Spiritual direction is, in reality, nothing more than a way of leading people to see and obey the real Director—the Holy Spirit.”
-Thomas Merton

What is it?
We’re not meant to walk alone.
Spiritual direction is a sacred space where you can slow down, listen more deeply, and begin to notice how God is already present and speaking in your life. It’s not counseling, advice-giving, or a checklist for improvement—it’s a prayerful relationship centered on your friendship with Christ.

Who is it for?
Spiritual direction is for anyone who is:
-
seeking deeper intimacy with God in prayer
-
walking through a season of transition, grief, or spiritual dryness
-
trying to discern their next step or vocation
-
feeling “stuck” or spiritually restless
-
longing to grow in trust, clarity, and peace
-
deeply rooted in faith or just 'starting out'
-
desiring to become more attentive to God’s voice and more free to respond

What to expect
Our meetings are typically once a month, and each session lasts about 60 minutes. Sessions are offered virtually (via Zoom) or in person if you're near Fayetteville, NC.
You don’t need to come with the “right” words or answers—just an openness to noticing where God might be moving in your life, even if it feels hidden or confusing. My role is to listen deeply, reflect back what I hear, and gently guide you to recognize and respond to the Holy Spirit’s invitations.
I accept donations of $0 to $50 per session. Gifts above this amount support me in providing spiritual direction at no cost to active duty service members and their dependents stationed around the globe.
Speaking
“Let your light so shine before others, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
- Matthew 5:16
There’s nothing quite like being in a room full of people who have come—quietly, curiously, sometimes desperately—hoping to meet God.
It’s one of my favorite places to be.

Whether I’m giving a talk to a room of military spouses, guiding a parish women’s retreat, or leading prayer with a group of missionary disciples, I speak with one simple hope: that those listening would experience God drawing near.

I don’t come with flashy presentations or five-step formulas. I bring what I’ve lived—conversion, motherhood, military life, ministry in motion—and the deep peace I’ve found in Christ through all of it. I speak from Scripture, from the Church’s wisdom, and from the lived beauty of a sacramental life, trusting that the Holy Spirit does the real work in every room.
